Instead of tricking out the former home to famed movie producer Samuel Goldwyn (above) with over-the-top flourishes, Taylor Swift is actually working with architects on restoring the 10,982-square-foot Georgian Revival to its original 1930s glory.

In a galaxy not so far away, Swift was writing teen-focused songs about being jealous of cheerleaders and other country artists. Now she’s all grown up, having scored 83.2 million Twitter followers, made about $800 million, and had other artists cover her songs. All of that notoriety and dough equals the need for paparazzi-free havens like the former Goldwyn mansion, which includes seven bedrooms and 10 baths, that Swift’s been feverishly working on since she purchased it in 2015.

To that end, Swift is looking to make the Beverly Hills home a historical landmark (no word on whether the home will be open to public tours down the line). To show the local government she’s not messing around, the musician has already restored all the original windows, original wood fencing, and walls. (She’s already gotten approval of the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission, and is awaiting confirmation from the Beverly Hills City Council.)

Of course, there have been tweaks made to the home to modernize and make it fit for a pop queen. It includes a library screening room, guest suite with a private entrance, card room, gym, and an additional guest lodge above the garage. The backyard features a swimming pool, along with sunken tennis courts.

Goldwyn and his wife counted Hollywood stars such as Charlie Chaplin and Clark Gable among their guests in the home, and it was even used by Goldwyn as collateral for his Academy Award–winning 1946 film The Best Years of Our Lives, for which he won a best picture Oscar (it also raked in six others). Not a bad gamble.

The home remained in the Goldwyn family for 80 years until Swift bought it from Goldwyn’s late son for $25 million. Scroll down for more interiors/exteriors of the home.
