Rolls Royces, Range Rovers and Bentleys adorn the drive at Cliveden House, where Vogue recently stopped for a lengthy and indulgent visit.
The 376-acre estate has a history stretching back three hundred years, and has been home to a variety of scandals — most famously, the Profumo Affair, in which a government official had an affair with a Russian spy-linked woman — and has been owned by the likes of the Duke of Buckingham, the Prince of Wales and Lord and Lady Astor.
The 47-room palace and idyllic grounds boasts gorgeous grounds and views of the River Thames in Taplow, England.
Today, it is a glamorous hotel, and Vogue insists that even visitors staying for an entire week can’t uncover all of its corners. Guests can stay in Lady Astor’s suite, or the Spring Cottage where Queen Victoria took her afternoon tea when on break from Windsor Castle.
