The pristine Alaskan spines are a little less pristine.
That’s thanks to pro freeskiers Sandra Lahnsteiner, Janina Kuzma, and Matilda Rapaport, who dropped into the immaculate powder in the Chilkat Range of Haines, Alaska, and showed off their freeskiing skills with a few GoPro cameras.
This isn’t the first time the women have navigated these spines either. Since 2013, the trio has come to this spot every year, skiing the slopes and raising the profile of women’s freeskiing with every run. (Though, tragically, Rapaport will not be back here in 2017; she died earlier this year after getting caught in an avalanche in Chile.)
