The 5 Days Our National Parks Will Be Free in 2019

Even Glacier, Yosemite and Yellowstone

National Parks are just too good of an idea for anyone to be too put off by entrance fees.  We’d happily pay kingly sums for a view like this. Or this

And it’s worth noting that 120 of America’s National Parks, Monuments and Rec Areas do charge entrance fees, on top of amenity and use fees once vistitors are inside the park.

But here’s some good news for aspiring adventures in the new year. National Parks are waiving their entrance fees for five wonderful days in 2019. We recommend circling one on the calendar, stat.

The dates:

  • January 21st, Martin Luther King Day
  • April 20th, first day of National Park Week
  • August 25th, National Park Service Birthday
  • September 28th, National Public Lands Day
  • November 11th, Veterans Day

For those looking to really maximize value on their Nat’l Parks hopping, we recommend picking up the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass. For $80 a year, your entrance fees, amenity fees and driver fees are covered for every single park. And unlike MoviePass, this deal isn’t going anywhere.
