If you can only make it to a handful of places this summer, keep it alfresco. Make it these five.

The Rooftop | Cerise
Perched atop the Virgin Hotel you'll find Cerise, a colorful rendezvous-in-the-sky with a full docket of events all summer long. Hit the lounge seating and get a Virgin Summer Cup. Maybe some veggie spring rolls. Then enjoy the bananas wraparound balcony and attendant city views.

The Patio | Expat
From the Nellcôte crew comes Expat, a 24-seat seasonal pop-up oasis located across the street from the Soho House. Means front-row street-theater seating. Make it your go-to alfresco joint. Wash down a dozen oysters with a glass of rosé. Actually, make it a bottle.

The Food Festival | Dog Dayz of Summer
Doug Sohn just can't stay away. The man’s teaming up with Goose Island for basically the one food thing you must do this summer. Expect live music, duck-fat fries and a selection of Hot Doug’s legendary sausages paired with Goose Island brews.

The Outdoor Bar | The Promontory
If you didn’t partake in this patio last summer, bookmark it this time around. Technically not an “outdoor bar,” but it certainly feels like one with the sliding doors flung wide open — which is, like, all the time. Upstairs: music. Very good music.

The Backyard Garden | The Brixton
For a low-key beer garden experience, we recommend setting your sights north to the backyard retreat at the Brixton. They do elevated pub grub here, and it’s the perfect wayward for exploring what’s new in Andersonville this summer.
