With a mere month of bright sunshiny days remaining on the Bay Area docket, the time is nigh to cook up a weekend getaway of the riverfront variety.

On our menu: Guerneville. Here’s your plan.

Wear This

The drought hasn’t done us any favors this summer, but despite lower-than-average water levels, the Russian River abides around the eight-foot mark through Guerneville, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunity to showcase your gams. Dress ‘em up right with some Saturdays NYC trunks, care of Welcome Stranger in Hayes Valley.

Drink Here

After toweling off, duck into the town’s newest watering hole, El Barrio, a Mexican-themed joint from the crew behind Guerneville’s stalwart Boon empire (Eat+Drink, Hotel+Spa). On tap: tequila and mezcal-driven refreshers and small bites (read: street tacos). ¡Salud!

Get your tickets now to The Book Was Better Film Festival, presented by the stylish and well-read bibliophiles of Temescal’s Book/Shop. Original films, celebrity judges and cold beverages on the riverbanks. Still a few weeks out, but tickets (and nearby rooms to let) go quickly.
