Live music is like a date escalator: taking things up to the next level nice and smooth.

Thing is, you gotta find the right band.

We found that band.

They’re called Cole Ramstad and the Chinatown All Stars, and you should be building an evening itinerary around them as soon as humanly possible.

The All Stars have been playing low-key Monday night shows at Chinatown cocktail den Apotheke since 2009.

But now they’re popping up all over — just last week your correspondent caught them at Soho House, where Questlove joined them on the kit for a few numbers.

Upshot: their underground status is not built to last. So it behooves a fella to grab a date and check them out ASAP.

The sound: Jazzy. Funky. Soulful. They do brassy renditions of ‘90s panty-droppers like Ginuwine’s “Pony” and R Kelly’s “Ignition (Remix).”

In short, fun. And sexy.

Cole and Co.’s next show is tomorrow night at members-only penthouse/art gallery Norwood. Lucky for you, we’ve got a line on a few invites – just email more@coleramstad.com for the hookup.

Barring that, you can catch them at Soho House on the 18th (if you’re a member), or Mondays at Apotheke.

For now, at least.

So get down on it.
