Here’s Where You’ll Be Going To Turn Up Your Style Game This Fall

Three new locales that have you covered brim-to-sole

If you spent the last three months re-purposing swim trunks as shorts, good on you, man.

That said, we hate to be the bear of bad news, but it’s time to dress like a grown-up again.

Autumn is fast upon us. Luckily, we’ve got three newly opened style destinations to sweeten the deal, from London’s finest tiemaker newly transplanted to our shores to a legacy custom shoemaker with flasks to match.

Here’s where to head.

NOAH WAXMAN
West Village
Traditional shoe-crafting meets all-American panache. Noah Waxman’s first flagship, a 300-square-foot West Village shop, is the new white glove go-to for pavement pounders. The new locale marks the brand’s expansion into made-to-measure footwear, with private shoe fittings and a vast portfolio of fabrics and finishes. Waxman’s complete collection of oxfords, sneakers, boots and sandals are on-hand as well. And complimentary personalization is available in-store, with the option of monogramming via foil stamping or blind embossing on footwear and small accessories. The opening also debuted the new accessories collection, which includes Footwear Accessories (laces, shoe horns, shoe trees and brushes) and the Travel Collection (weekender dopp kits, portfolios and small leather goods). Our favorite, though, is the Bar Collection: leather barware, coasters, flasks and trays. What kind of beast wouldn’t want to match his flask to his oxfords, after all?

APOLIS: COMMUNITY CENTRE
SoHo
Given the current retail landscape, it’s in a brick ‘n’ mortar’s interest to be more than a clothier. And Apolis is. Their new 850-square-foot flagship, and first East Coast shop, weds retail with social programming. Founders Raan and Shea Parton want to be part of the community, not just another address on the block. “Creating a venue that brings people together — through gallery exhibits, dinners, film releases, new Apolis collection debuts and keynote speakers — has become a really important part of our brand. We see retail being much more similar to the hospitality industry and want any space we open to serve as a community center,” said Raan. So while we advise stopping in to improve your barista skills or talk shop with renowned authors, don’t discount the fact that they still sell a seasonally on-point quilted blazer and a handsome New York market tote.

DRAKE’S
SoHo
One of the U.K.’s finest purveyors of men’s sartorial furnishings and apparel hath arrived. Freshly opened, Drake’s features the complete Autumn/Winter 2016 collection and for the first time, their own in-house selvedge denim and dress trousers. Their pop-up saw gents lined up around the block for ties and scarves, so even in the age of sneakerheads and athleisure, we’re not surprised to see them turn to NYC for a permanent — and very welcome — endeavor.
