Airplane Food

Lo, the golden age of airline travel — when the Scotch flowed freely, smoking was encouraged and buxom flight attendants sashayed the aisles.

Take it back to those halcyon days with Mile High, a pop-up dinner party series celebrating the heyday of flight and landing in New York for the first time ever. Book your tickets now.

Mile High takes over venues and kits them out like swingin’ 1950s travel lounges where “passengers” (see: you and yours) mingle with various uniformed pilots, flight attendants and other airline personnel over cocktails.

Come “boarding” time, you’ll fork over passport and adjourn to another room themed on the evening’s destination.

This go-round the Mile High crew is taking you back to their London hometown, so look for cheeky Brit finery and probably at least one taciturn fellow in a huge black hat.

Expect surprises over four courses of gourmet grub (also destination themed). Past voyages have included Swedish drinking songs, an Italian game show and a contest to see who could slice Spanish jamón thinnest.

Post dinner: more drinks and tunes from the “airborne DJ division” for cutting a rug.

Talk about friendly skies.
