Giorgio Moroder’s Disco Bash Is Gonna Be the Party of the Year

Set the Delorean for 1977 and grab a date. Let’s dance.

If you only go to one party this year, make it this one.

Be forewarned: this experience is not for the faint of heart (nor the dual of left foot).

First off, we don’t know where it is. It’s a secret. Second off, the hosts have warned us that you should be prepared to stand, walk, climb, “be touched” and be alone.

There’s also gonna be some nudity. And some drinks. And a whole lotta disco.

Here’s the plan.

Loosen Up
It won’t be difficult. Our new favorite Flatiron haunt has more than 100 mezcals and tequilas to choose from. And while you’re at it, we recommend fueling up for the evening with a bit of their excellent Mex fare, of which the tacos and ceviche take top prize. The dungeonesque Sugar Skull Room downstairs is also a must before you head out.

Look the Part
These Omega shades make for a quick and easy gamechanger. And trust us when we say you want to dress to impress — this affair is going to be off the charts. A sunglasses-at-night kind of soiree.

Let’s Dance
On September 9th and 10th, man/myth/godfather of disco Giorgio Moroder is recreating the ‘70s dance scene with a party called “I Feel Love.” The show will feature performances from Studio 54 mainstay Nicky Siano, Jackmaster, Oliver, Armand Van Helden, Kungs and Soul Clap. Tickets are on sale here now, and they come with tantalizing warnings. The location is yet to be revealed, people will be naked, and photography is not allowed. And due to the “unique nature of this event,” guests must arrive between 9 and 11 P.M. Creative director Toby Benson promises it will be an experience unlike anything in the current NYC clubscape. We’re in. See you maniacs there.
