The ‘Nude’ App Will Protect Your NSFW Photos Like a Bodyguard

Not today, hackers

All due respect to Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, but for most people it’s bad, not a boon, if nude photos or videos of them leak out onto the web for mass consumption.

That said, if you do happen to have an intimate image or two that you’d like protected, there’s a new application called Nude that’ll search the camera roll on your phone for anything questionable, lock it up in a virtual vault in the app, and then delete it from the Cloud.

Since its developers used software to scrape sites like PornHub for qualifying images, Nude’s algorithm relies on a database of 30 million images to flag up pics that need protecting, but you can also manually add them into the app (or other important pics like a driver’s license, etc.). It’s isn’t perfect. “If you have man boobs, those will be imported,” the developers told The Verge.

To access the app, users have to enter a PIN. And as an added security feature, Nude will use the phone’s front-facing camera to take a picture of anyone who enters the PIN incorrectly.

The good news is that the app is free, but the bad news is it’s only available for iOS, for now.

Here’s the website, for research purposes.
