Scheduling

Like vacations, the best calendars are the ones that’re organized for you. Hence SuperCalendar, which assigns you a U.S.-based “calendar professional” to coordinate all meetings and events. Simply set up a few preferences (location, time, priorities) and then email your requests (e.g., “reschedule all of today’s appointments for next week”) to your assistant.

Osito

Reminders

Just launched inside the popular Evernote app, “Reminders” is a simple way to never forget an important client birthday, event or meeting. Just tap the alarm clock icon on a note (say, “Client Info”), program a date and time, and you’ll receive an in-app alarm or email reminder.

And, for a Minority Report-ish service that will remind you to do things before you think of them, try the “predictive intelligence” of Osito, a new app that surfaces reminders and important info (like boarding passes) to your phone based on your location.

Private day at Yankee Stadium
Give Them Access

The best gift our CEO ever received was a private activities day at Yankee Stadium for the entire company. “It was unique, personal and very thoughtful – we could even bring our kids.” Stadiums across the country do this, including in San Fran, LA and Detroit.

Notes & Engraving
Heed This Advice

A handwritten note is always a good idea, especially since some companies (and this goes double for government employees) have dollar value limits on the gifts they can receive. For gifts of liquor, spend the extra scratch to have it engraved (hint: you can customize bottles of The Glenlivet and Johnnie Walker). If you can, deliver the gift in person.

Find. Eat. Drink.
The Restaurant

Home court advantage equals confidence. First step: get a reservation. Use Find. Eat. Drink., the app that reveals where pro chefs eat. Second step: ask the maître d' about preferred seating (Which table has the best view?) and parking and payment options. If you can, arrive early and give your card to the staff. They’ll immediately know the score, and defer to you for the evening.

The Drinks

Many restaurants will post their drink and wine menus online. Look in advance. For wine, either trust the sommelier or inquire about popular bottles before dinner so you can run the ordering. Or, we recommend Wine Spectator’s WineRatings+ app. For liquor, a man should always know his scotch. And be ready to recommend the restaurant’s top cocktails.

Windsor Vineyards
The Thank You

If they enjoyed your wine selection, send over a bottle (Windsor Vineyards can customize a label for you). Or, if you’re a good listener, send them something they mentioned in conversation. At the InsideHook offices, much of our decor was made by our relatives. If a client expresses regard, we’ll have a small piece shipped to them the next day.
