If you plan on flying in business class between the U.S. and Europe between now and next year, now’s your time to buy: we’re in the middle of a “rare fare war” for biz class seats. It won’t last, so book pronto.

How much will you be saving? A lot. Figure your average business class seat between, say, New York and London will set you back around $6,000. Travel Skills found seats for $2,300, while our own search on British Airways and American bottomed out around $2,600 — that’s still savings of more than 50 percent, and we found those seats for prime summer travel in July and August. Travel Skills also saw solid deals on carriers including Air Canada, Icelandair, Turkish and TAP.

The best bargains are from East Coast cities, though there are some good ones from the West Coast  — like Phoenix to Dublin at around $1,900. The middle of the country is a crap shoot: there are sub-$2,000 round-trips from Dallas and Houston to Spain and Italy, and Spain and France, respectively, but Chicagoans will pay $2,800 for Barcelona or Madrid.
