The Future of Sound Costs $40k … Per Speaker

Hear that? That’s Bang & Olufsen’s BeoLab 90.

Danish audiophiles Bang & Olufsen have released details on their latest speaker, and uh…we’re listening. Calling it their “proudest loudspeaker to date,” the BeoLab 90 is a behemoth of a standing floor speaker that’ll bring all the highs and lows to an outsized mansion, let alone whatever you call home.

Each speaker has a total of 18 drivers and amplifiers that can deliver a hearing aid-necessitating 8,200 watts. While the aluminum cabinet offers 360-degree sound, users are also able to control the direction of the output as well as acoustically compensate for every other object in the room to achieve the clearest sound waves imaginable.
