It’s Your Last Chance to Pick Up One of Airstream’s Famed Land Yachts

The beloved luxury trailer is ceasing production

When it came to updating his company’s gleaming chromed-out fleet each year, Airstream founder Wally Byam had a motto: “Let’s not make changes, let’s make only improvements.”

While that sentiment is still reflected in the company’s 2017 lineup of trailers and touring coaches, a big change is coming for Airstream’s most exclusive model.

Simply put, it’s the end of the road for Airstream’s “elaborately luxurious” trailer, the Land Yacht.

Airstream has decided to cease production of the 28-foot luxe models, meaning only about a dozen of the limited-edition trailers remain available for purchase as of this writing.

Created as a “halo” product for “discerning clients,” the three-room Land Yacht was designed with assistance from Officinia Italiana Design and yacht-builder Mauro Micheli, and its interior features work from Italian firm cabinetry Tecnoform.

Designed to resemble a high-end watercraft, the vehicle is equipped with boat-deck plank flooring, upholstery made from Italian fabrics, a tasteful lines of LEDs, Corian countertops, curved cabinetry a pair of LED TVs and enough room to sleep six comfortably.

Priced starting around $146,500, the last of Land Yachts will roll off the line within the next week.

Bon voyage, sweet prince.
