And, y'know, other things that get spilled at a beer fest

If you’ve ever been to an Oktoberfest celebration, in Munich or otherwise, you know how wild things get.

In a strange tribute to their home country’s famous fest, the design team at Adidas is releasing  a new line of shoes that are covered with the brand’s new “DPBR” coating.

What, pray tell, does DPBR stand for? That’d be “durable puke and beer repellent.” Seriously.

Inspired by traditional Bavarian leather pants and modeled on the silhouette of the classic München shoe, the beer-and-puke-resistant kicks, which are also designed to repel water, are made from high-quality leather are dyed brown with speckled laces, presumably for camouflage.

As an added homage to the purpose of the shoes, Adidas has gone to the trouble of embroidering the heel cap “to match your lederhosen,” adding a red-and-white checked interior that matches traditional tablecloths and stitching Prost in all CAPS above the three stripes.

Online sneaker store 43einhalb has the exclusive on ’em, so you’ll wanna check there for updates and restocks.
