From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in LA is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your three-step itinerary to a damn good time.

This week, we’re heading to Manhattan Beach for the magic hour. Here’s your plan.

  • The Strand House

    117 Manhattan Beach Blvd
    corner of Ocean Dr.
    (310) 545-7470

    The Strand House

The magic hour. One hour before sunset. That golden dalliance of sun on Pacific. The Strand House in Manhattan Beach offers the only view to enjoy that time to its fullest. Order fresh oysters and NV G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne from the new oyster cart.

    Here's your plan.

  • Little Sister

    1131 Manhattan Ave
    b/t Manhattan Beach Blvd & 12 St
    (310) 545-2096

    Little Sister

After sunset, head over to Little Sister — the new Southeast Asian bistro with a RZA vibe by the WildCraft Pizza/Abigale guys. Grab the malty Sugar Daddy brew and order the sensational sesame sour baguette and a soft-shell crab banh mi. Then get the shaky shaky beef and a couple more Sugar Daddys. You won’t need to drive anywhere tonight.

    Here's your plan.

  • The Shade Hotel

    1221 N Valley Drive
    cut through the open-air mall
    on Morningside Dr
    (310) 546-4995

    The Shade Hotel

After dinner, stumble a few blocks to the Shade Hotelthe only hotel in town (no joke). Luckily, each fire-lit room comes equipped with a jacuzzi. In the morning, grab continental breakfast before taking one of their complimentary bikes for a ride along the beach.
