Leather Regions

Whether it’s a motorcycle jacket or the face of a Texas serial killer, leather makes everything more badass.

And now that includes bicycle seats.

Introducing LEH SPLY & MFG, taking orders for their custom cowhide bicycle saddles right now.

Helmed by Carson Leh — born from a lineage that includes Pennsylvanian cobblers and Eames designers — LEH designs its rump rests with all the care of handcrafted leather shoes.

His seats run from this delicious four-panel job made from calfskin and blue suede (for mountain bikes) to a classic tri-stitch for town and city biking.

As an avid BMX biker, Leh makes quality BMX seats, too, including this all-suede SL seat with the kind of clean punch-work you’d find on a Johnston and Murphy longwing brogue.

When Carson isn’t stitching seats he’s doing research and design for David Hertz, the Venice-based sustainable architect. Soon he’ll transfer this skill to LEH by adding furniture and custom lighting to the menu.

Depending on the complexity, Carson’s saddles take between a week and a month to make, but buyers can watch their saddle come to life on Instagram, where Leh posts updates.

So you’ll know when he’s behind.
