EXECUTIVE EDITOR (New York, NY)
InsideHook, the essential digital media brand for adventurous and discerning men, is looking for an Executive Editor to lead content strategy across all platforms: web, email, video, social, sponsored editorial and events.

The Executive Editor should have a deep understanding of the digital landscape, including but not limited to: excellent curatorial instincts for the InsideHook audience; experience working with brands to create seamless, buzzworthy native content; an appreciation for using data and analytics to inform editorial strategy; and strong writing and editorial skills.

He/she will work with our editorial and design teams to develop an editorial calendar for 2016 and beyond, establish processes and workflows that ensure the editorial team meets all deadlines, and collaborate with our sales, marketing and tech departments to maintain the brand’s integrity and voice across all published materials.

The Executive Editor should bring a unique perspective to our content that both distinguishes and elevates our brand in the men’s lifestyle media space. As an integral part of the InsideHook executive committee, the Executive Editor will play a vital role in the growth and success of the company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lend a unique editorial vision to all InsideHook content (web, social, video, sponsored)
  • Organize, supervise and participate in the management and development of all InsideHook content
  • Work with editors and designers on the development of the editorial calendar, including the conception and execution of monthly content themes
  • Establish data­driven feedback loops that inform the editorial content direction
  • Work with Managing Editor to establish and enforce deadlines for copy and creative
  • Direct and coordinate the work of freelance writers
  • Establish editorial processes and workflows to ensure the InsideHook product is being served to readers to the best of our abilities
  • Provide analysis to the executive committee to demonstrate progress, adverse trends, and attendant recommendations or conclusions for editorial operations
  • Manage the Editorial Department personnel relative to hiring, performance tracking, promotions and vacation schedules

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4­-6 years experience in an editorial role at a digital media company
  • Passion for and deep knowledge of the digital media landscape
  • Interest in luxury men’s lifestyle brands and media
  • Deep interest in data and analytics that help inform content strategy

SENIOR INTEGRATED MARKETING MANAGER (New York, NY)
InsideHook, the essential digital lifestyle platform for adventurous and discerning men, is looking for a Senior Integrated Marketing Manager to lead sales-marketing efforts across all platforms: web, email, video, social, sponsored editorial and events.

The Senior Integrated Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and creation of all sales-marketing proposals and programs for advertisers that live across digital, mobile, native and branded content on InsideHook platforms. The individual in this role will report to the Head of Sales and work closely with the Creative Director, along with the sales, editorial and design teams, managing the entire pre-sale proposal creation and writing process with the goal of driving partnerships and revenue.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage incoming RFPs and proactive proposals in conjunction with the sales team
  • Conceptualize and create unique multi-channel innovative big ideas across digital, events, mobile, social media, video, etc., to meet client goals, deadlines and budgets across all advertising categories
  • Own and lead the pitch development process for proposals including ideating, writing all proposals, and pricing strategy
  • Be able to analyze and extract key information from briefs according to the needs of the client/agency
  • Understand client/agency needs and help craft value propositions
  • Provide creative direction to Design Team to create visual representations of sales solutions
  • Create all sales-marketing presentations, RFP decks, and sales collateral and ensure that research/company stats are up-to-date

OPERATIONS ANALYST (New York, NY)

InsideHook is an innovator in branded entertainment, providing native solutions, custom content and video, event activation and other innovative programs for premium and luxury men’s lifestyle brands.

We are seeking a full-time Operations Analyst who ideally has a minimum of 1 year of ad trafficking experience. This candidate should be a self-starter with an interest in the technical side of digital product and operations. The role requires a close attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Perform all aspects of traffic management, including implementation, testing, deployment, delivery, and optimization of ad campaigns. Perform QA for all campaigns that go live.
  • Maintain ad specs for all digital products.
  • Daily testing and scheduling of InsideHook emails across all editions.
  • Troubleshoot ad serving issues, discrepancies and reporting issues.
  • Be a subject matter expert on all ad server implementations and integrations (data, programmatic, remnant, etc).
  • Gather email campaign performance statistics and distribute to Editorial, Ad Sales and Branded Entertainment teams.
  • Work closely with Campaign Managers to provide account support for ad campaigns, both pre-sales and post-sales. Ensure smooth delivery of campaigns by maintaining and distributing pacing reports.
  • Gather business requirements from Marketing, Sales, Operations and Editorial in order to help Tech prioritize product tasks and product development.
  • Translate business requirements to technical requirements.
  • Create and manage tickets in the issue tracking system.
  • Groom Product Backlog and prepare presentations for Sprint Review and Sprint Planning meetings.
  • Conduct quality assurance on bug fixes, product enhancements and new features.
  • Assist the marketing team with bulk subscriber management tasks (culls and additions).
  • Take ownership and provide technical support to staff on new and existing issues.
  • Create and maintain technical knowledge base to document the features of the CMS.

DATA ANALYST
InsideHook is the essential digital publication for discerning and adventurous men.  We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our team.  This is a salaried, full-time position with benefits.

Our office is located in the heart of Chelsea and it has an open floor plan, a comfortable living room, a relaxing Buddha room, a kitchen table for stand-ups and is filled with sharp men and women determined to be tremendously successful.  We often host guest speakers who are at the top of their game during our weekly, catered lunches on Fridays.

What we do and who we are:

Each weekday, InsideHook publishes a single compelling story about a unique local experience, helping the man with limited time to live life to the fullest. InsideHook currently publishes four city editions (New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago) and an edition that covers the nation. Andy Russell, former Pilot Group partner and the lead investor behind Daily Candy, Thrillist, Tasting Table and Pure Wow, captains InsideHook as the CEO. What you will do:

  • Conduct analysis, create presentations/reports and share them with the organization’s decision makers
  • Manually extract, load and transform data for ad-hoc reporting as necessary
  • Plan, create, and then maintain a data dictionary that identifies all master data elements and key performance indicators used by the business to drive decision-making
  • Work hand in hand with our tech team to define requirements and processes for building and improving our analytics and reporting systems

We are looking for a creative pixel wizard, able to successfully carry out multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will be involved in a variety of challenging projects and will gain valuable insight as to how projects are designed, developed and launched.
